In our sustainability efforts, we strive to achieve several key objectives. These include establishing a transparent and traceable supply chain, enhancing agricultural techniques and standards, and uplifting the livelihoods of farmers.

We are committed to improving food safety and security, meeting both customer expectations and our sustainability criteria.

Our ultimate goal is to sustainably source rice, ensuring that every step of our process aligns with environmental and social responsibility.

Sustainable Rice Production

Since 2018, Herba Bangkok has embarked on farming program initiatives as part of our commitment to sustainability in the rice sector, a crucial component of Ebro Foods' supply chain in Thailand.

We firmly believe that forging alliances is the most effective approach to achieving sustainability. We collaborate closely with key partners such as the Thai Rice Department, millers, and local farmers to implement these initiatives.

Through these projects, we aim to enable farmers to cultivate high-quality rice more efficiently, thereby reducing production costs and increasing yields that meet global standards.

Membership - The Sustainable Agriculture Initiative (SAI)

Internationally, Ebro Foods joined the Sustainable Agriculture Initiative (SAI) platform in 2015. The SAI platform, founded by Danone, Nestlé and Unilever in 2002, is designed to help food processors and farmers to work collectively to redesign the whole food value chain to make it sustainable. Ebro Foods has focused on its rice value chain within this engagement. The projects being carried out internationally are still private initiatives and, as the projects are at a nascent stage, the company has not yet approached governments for partnership. There are plans to engage local governments in the countries to let them know what activities are being carried out and to explore possibilities for collaboration and support.

Our Contribution to the Agenda 2030

In this context, although all the actions taken by the Ebro Group within the scope of its Social Responsibility and Sustainability are related directly or indirectly with the 17 SDGs, we have identified the ones to which we can make the greatest contribution by virtue of the nature of our business activity.

Based on our Sustainability Plan HEADING FOR 2030, we have defined the following as priority SDGs: 1 (No Poverty), 2 (Zero Hunger), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), 10 (Reduced Inequality), 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), 13 (Climate Action) and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Caring The Planet

Caring for you and the planet is the Ebro Foods slogan that represents the companys commitment to sustainable growth and being socially responsible. This commitment is based on creating a business model that, in addition to being profitable and efficient, helps society to progress and provides value to all players and places where we operate: employees and shareholders, customers, the social environment and the natural environment.

To meet this commitment, we have designed a Global Sustainability Plan called Heading Towards 2030, which comprises a series of goals and activities that will be implemented up until 2030 to consolidate our sustainable business plan.

This plan is based on three areas of activity: Caring for You, Caring for the Planet and Caring for Food.
